Mike began in the HVAC industry in January 1972 as an assistant service mechanic in the Los Angeles area. After many months of training he graduated to the full duties of a service mechanic. He provided service and support for a wide variety of systems including general comfort cooling (reciprocating & centrifugal chillers), installation and service for critical environment facilities (food processing and testing facilities), process cooling (Kaiser Gypsum drywall products, plastic bag manufacturing) and many other diverse manufacturing, heating and cooling systems including control systems (dedicated microprocessors for facilities management). Prior to founding NEC, Mike managed a local manufacturer’s rep firm (Climate Systems Inc.) who eventually closed down after Mike’s departure which lead to NEC’s acquisition of many manufacturers.
